What to Expect when during your visit to the City of Jacksonville

First, check in at the Kiosk. Next, you will be routed to one of our permit assistants who will add your project to the Building Inspection Division permitting system to create a permit number. After receiving a permit number, you can track your permit online at JAXEPICS.coj.net.

Once your shed project is in the system, you will be routed to another department located on the 2nd floor of the Ed Ball Building for approvals. Depending on the location of your home within the City, additional agencies, such as Historical Preservation, may need to review your application.

After obtaining all approvals, a permit for sheds less than 150 square feet and under $5000 will be issued during your visit.

Sheds over 150 square feet or over $5000 will require a plan review before issuing a permit. At the end of your visit, a permit assistant will enter your project into the system and assign a plans examiner. After completing the review, a plan examiner will contact you.

The tax collector’s office is available on the 2nd floor of the Ed Ball Building.

Jacksonville Shed Inspections
